The goal of the meetings was to prevent corruption on the part of promoters and create an overall policy of rules, insurance coverage and guaranteed purses. On February 21, 1948 at the Streamline Hotel in Daytona Beach, the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing or NASCAR was formed. So Daytona Beach and NASCAR do complete each other.
